We love Venice and the photography in this stunning book is so evocative as the oversize format allows Derry’s images to really do justice to this beautiful place and Monty’s descriptions share the secrets of each beautiful space.

Each garden is eloquently described by Monty Don and accompanied by the most wonderful photography by Derry Moore, sharing details about its history, the people who lovingly tend these gardens today, and details about the planting or features in the gardens.

If you saw the BBC series Adriatic Gardens this is a wonderful reminder of this beautiful programme, but as a standalone book it is a delightful insight into the exquisite gardens often hidden behind the Venetian landscape.
